A place to share the photos I love

About the Project

A few years ago, I started dabbling in photography. It's now a full-blown obsession. I needed a better place to share my photos than Facebook, so I created a simple blog. This has become my favorite place to play with various website-related ideas, such as the best way to make private galleries where my friends could download full-size images they wanted to keep. Building the site to be responsive, it has also been great being able to pull up the website on my phone to show someone a new photo while out and about.

The logo

Since this site is my personal blog, I wanted everything to be authentic and casual. The logo was created from my real handwriting. Starting with a ballpoint pen and blank index cards and after a dozen or so iterations, the winner got scanned and cleaned up in Illustrator.

Within private galleries, a download button appears when the mouse is hovering on an image.

On a blog post, a Pinterest button appears when the mouse is hovering on an image.
